S8k paid a tribute to George Michael

S8k paid a tribute to George Michael by creating a new painting which depicts the face of the superstar and the title is "Freedom". “George Michael was a great artist with a great voice, an instrument that balanced the smoothness of Sade Adu with the ebullience of Whitney Houston and supercharged any pop song it encountered, a voice that sounded relatable even as it leapt octaves”, the artist said.
S8k a self-represented full time artist who lives between Athens and New York says, “I paint, I draw, and I do it every day.” Apart from
arts and cartoons, S8k wanted to do something creative and he finally came up with making acrylic drawings on adhered together sheets of newspapers. It’s the field of his interest where he finds fragility to those images.
The hand drawn stark black lines against the intricate printed words of the old newspapers offer a strange fusion and depth that seems to give the images a kind of meaning and back story, even though unconnected in a contrived way.
