Art made of found stuff is nothing new, but Foerster’s art represents a sort of narrative of dumpster diving—chronicling, as it were, a life of discovery writ in trash. Things like discarded plates from offset printing businesses, or photograms made on rescued sheets of old photographic paper, lend the work a shaggy, DIY presence.
