The Clocktower Gallery presents former Clocktower resident, Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels's installation affixed to the ceiling of our Radio Studio operating out of the third floor of Pioneer Works, Center for Art and Innovation.
Serra Victoria Bothwell Fels is a Tennessee-raised Australian-American artist based in Brooklyn. From discarded housing materials, she makes large-scale installations that are submerging environments built into existing architecture. Her work abstracts structures into layers that explores how specific qualities of environments create experiential constructs. Loosely combining concepts from her ‘blueprint’ paintings with a site’s specific geography, she builds towards particular feelings and moments that subtly form people’s experiences within the installation.
