Cannabis film festival comes to Brooklyn

For one day, Brooklyn will have its own Great Weed Way.
Organizers of the first-ever New York City Cannabis Film Festival want to celebrate marijuana in a responsible fashion.
The all-day event will feature cannabis-related films tailored toward people under the influence of marijuana on Saturday at the Wythe Hotel in Brooklyn.
Cannabis and film have gone hand in hand for years, according to one of the organizers, Michael Zaytsev.
The first screening will begin at 4:20 p.m. — featuring seven short films and a feature length documentary profiling Dr. Raphael Mechoulam called, "The Scientist."
The documentary explains why cannabis is a powerful and effective medicine, according to Zaytsev.
A second screening of the same films will follow at 7:10 p.m. Tickets are available through EventBrite for $20.

"All of the films are great," Mattson said. "Each one fits into its own category."
