Allen Jones, “Bystander” at Marlborough Contemporary in New York

The work of this key player of ’60s British Pop Art was never what you’d call feminist-friendly—not with the way it rendered women as mannequin-like sex bots. Still, Jones, now 80, remains unapologetically naughty with figures of naked women on stools, painted to match colorful, abstract canvases hung behind them.
