At this
year’s annual CFDA Awards, which honor American designers and are often called
the “Oscars of fashion”, Kim Kardashian will be awarded with the first-ever
Influencer Award.
Kim will be
presented with the award at the NYC ceremony on June 4th. “Over the past decade,
Kim Kardashian West has mastered the meaning of influence in the digital age,”
CFDA Chairwoman Diane von Furstenberg said in a press release.
Tommy
Hilfiger was reportedly the first to suggest Kardashian for the special honor.
“Kim is the most important and powerful influencer in the world. Her reach
extends far beyond her own brands,” the CFDA board member noted in the release,
referring to the star’s handful of businesses including KKW Beauty, KKW
Fragrance, and Kimoji.
